The Hard EOD Café
The Hard EOD Cafe is a legendary online community and virtual hub for British Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operators—primarily rooted in the Royal Engineers (such as 21 Squadron and 33 Engineer Regiment)—founded 1996 and the 1st Organised Re-Union occurring in London in 1998.
Origins and Purpose
- Foundation: Established in the Summer of 1996 by members of 21 Squadron (EOD).
- Global Community: Rapidly expanded past its initial regimental roots to connect bomb disposal operators across the Royal Logistic Corps, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and international EOD Technicians, particularly in the United States.
Legacy and Tradition
- Reunions: Became a central pillar for organizing annual London-based and localized gatherings for scattered EOD veterans and serving personnel, one Re-Union was held in the City of York, Northern England, not unlike the current Prime Minister’s decision to start up a No 10 North, hmm we wonder whether he got that from us!
